Looking back on 2019

This year will end a few days later.
It is 17 years since I took ETS reversal surgery, and I will write how this year was.

Strange feeling of flowing nerves
I still feel every day. Though I had a feeling that the nerves in the right chest were greatly connected last year (so big feeling that there was only once on the left side in the past), since then, the flow which streams from my abdomen to my arms and fingers through my armpits has become stronger. I don't feel the stream all the time, so it repeatedly in and out. Sometimes I am worried when the current is disappeared. But I have the feeling that my nerve flows when I lie down and strengthen my shoulders, so I often do so.

Compensatory sweating and gustatory sweating
Because of Dermadry, my armpit sweat was reduced, but the compensatory sweating on the last summer was a little more than usual. I have had ETS reversal surgery and my torso sweating has been drastically reduced, so this small increase of my sweat is not a major problem, but it can be a painful increase for some people.
The amount of my gustatory sweating greatly depends on the situation when eating. When eat in a hot place, I get a lot of this sweating. On the contrary, when eat in a cold and with no sweat, I only get a moist sweat from the top of my head. Of course, definitely reduced since before.

Difference between left / right hand
I don't feel it when warm situation, but only feel when cold. Then the right hand is colder than the left. But it is improved than last year, and it is no longer with "having trouble". However, when it gets colder in January or February, it might be noticeable.
I have no sweat in both hands.

Foot sweat
Dermadry is working so well and this year's (winter) foot sweat has definitely decreased. However, it may be necessary to keep in mind that now I spend whole day for my parental care, so my foot sweat is not a problem. For example, when asked "Is it the level of sweat you can withstand when wear shoes at work?", I don't have the answer.

Collectively...
  • Summer compensatory sweat increased a little (due to Dermadry), but it was not a problem.
  • Winter foot sweat is all fine (thanks to Dermadry), but it might be a problem again when I get to work...
  • The nervous flow feeling continues, but it is not clear if this will end. But that feeling definitely helps to reduce sweat and cold hands.
  • I am certainly getting better. But I still don't know how much better and how long it will take.

My friends who have taken ETS reversal surgery
Three friends went to Finland for ETS reversal surgery in this year. It may be only three who took ETS reversal surgery in this year from Japan. Yuko-san and Backy-san each have a blog and write their own situation on it, and Manaka-san summarizes the situation at the time of the surgery and after it (on the comment page of my blog).
In addition, I made LINE group with my friends who had taken ETS reversal surgery. It is a good cycle to guide the applicant, hear the latest information from him, and share it with everyone on my blog.

And, I also felt some changes on the net.

Changes in online communication about hyperhidrosis or its surgery
Though I mainly collected information on blogs and anonymous bulletin boards until last year, now I mostly see Twitter and became to know the thoughts of each individual on it. As a result, I saw less the suffering voice of those who with compensatory sweating... The movement of young people is also active, like the documentary video of Homma Koki-san, so I feel that it is a generational change.

But, I intend to continue at my own pace!
